The Fund worked with the National Park Service to add more than 5,500 acres to Wind Cave NP. The property, considered a sacred place by the Lakota, includes a thousand-year-old buffalo jump, tipi rings and other cultural sites, such as a historic homestead. The bison found here are one of the most ecologically-significant bison herds in America and Wind Cave, which gives the park its name, is one of the longest and most complex caves in the world.
